Sami Zayn vs. JD McDonagh took place at the WWE Crown Jewel 2023 PLE. Here are the highlights…

* Zayn took his time during his entrance in order to milk the crowd response. Zayn and JD had a feeling out process as they both took in the crowd reactions. After a few minutes of back and forth action, JD took control of the match. Zayn tried to come off the top rope but was caught with a dropkick from JD. JD went for a moonsault but Zayn countered by putting his feet up.

* A bruise/rash was seen near JD’s hip from something that happened during the match.

* Zayn delivered an exploder suplex to JD in the corner. Zayn then hit the helluva kick followed by the Blue Thunder Bomb for the win. Zayn soaked in the crowd cheers once again after the match.
