Gunther (c) vs. Mustafa Ali for the Intercontinental title took place at WWE Night of Champions 2023. Here are the highlights…

* Gunther quickly tossed Ali to the mat after their first lockup. Ali chopped Gunther and it just made Gunther angry. Ali used his speed to avoid Gunther but struggled to take Gunther down. Gunther slammed Ali and took control of the match.

* Ali managed to make a comeback and delivered a neckbreaker. Ali hit a powerbomb out of the corner and then came off the top with a 450 splash but Gunther kicked out.

* Gunther regained control when he caught Ali with a clothesline. Ali continued to fight but Gunther finally picked up the win with a powerbomb.
