Results of Adam Page vs. Swerve Strickland at AEW WrestleDream 2023

“Hangman” Adam Page vs. Swerve Strickland (with the Mogul Embassy) took place at AEW WrestleDream 2023. Here are the highlights…

* Before the match, Swerve hyped up his home state fans by asking whose house it was. The crowd was largely behind Swerve and a “Hangman sucks” chant started.

* The match went back and forth in the early moments. Page hit a fallaway slam and was booed. The two ended up on the outside and Page slammed Swerve into the barriacde. Page then delivered his moonsault to Swerve on the outside.

* Back in the ring, Page was unable to finish off Swerve. Swerve made a comeback and delivered a brainbuster but Page kicked out. Swerve hit the swerve stomp followed by the house call kick but Page kicked out again. Swerve went for the stomp on the apron but missed and Page hit hm with deadeye on the steel steps.

* Back in the ring, Swerve avoided the Buckshot lariat and applied an arm submission. Swerve stomped on the arm and Page rolled to the apron. As the doctor was checking on Page, Swerve hit the stomp on the apron. Swerve got Page back in the ring and came off the top with a 450 splash but Page kicked out. Swerve applied another arm submission to Page but Page got his foot on the rope.

* Page avoided another Stomp and delivered the Buckshot lariat but couldn’t make the cover right away because of his injured arm. Page finally made the cover but Prince Nana put Swerve’s foot on the rope. The referee ejected Nana from the ringside area and the crowd booed. While the referee was distracted, Swerve hit Page with Nana’s crown and went for the cover but Page kicked out yet again.

* Swerve hit two more house call kicks and finally scored the pinfall victory over Page with a JML driver.
