Thought on some of the things that happened at WWE Bad Blood 2024

So, another WWE PLE is in the books, and I wanted to give my take on some of the events that happened at the show.

First, I actually loved the Hell in a Cell match. To me, that’s what a Hell in a Cell match should be. This was also the redemption of CM Punk, as he proved he can still perform at a high level without getting injured. Great match, and it’s, at least to me, a match-of-the-year candidate.

Now, as to what happens with Punk and McIntyre next, I think Punk will probably be the next guy to challenge Gunther for the title at Survivor Series and either win the title before slowly starting to build his WrestleMania feud with Rollins, or he’s going to put over Gunther. As for McIntyre, I feel like he should really take a break before starting his next feud, just to refresh his character a little bit.

Nia vs. Bayley was a little tough to watch, mostly because Nia was trying to do a lot of stuff she’s never done before, so it came off awkward, and Cole had to cover for her on commentary often. Still, you can see how much she has changed since coming back, and I actually like what she’s doing. I also love how the whole Nia/Tiffany dynamic is going. While we know that at some point they will pull the trigger on Tiffany cashing in on Nia, I love the slow burn for this, and the longer they wait, the bigger a star Tiffany will become.

Damian Priest vs. Finn Balor was a good match, but I don’t know where they go from here, because this felt like the end-of-the-feud type of match with how it ended. The sad thing is, I don’t know where you go with either guy at this point unless Priest gets a partner and challenges for the tag titles.

Rhea vs. Liv was the better of the two women’s matches on the card, and again, Liv retained because of someone interfering. What I liked the most was seeing how Rhea is paying for the things she did in the past. It’s going to be fun to see a heel Raquel Rodriguez feuding with Rhea in the next few months while Liv can focus on other challengers.

The main event was really boring, but the crowd ate it up, so I can’t really complain too much. It did set up a lot of future stuff with the Bloodline vs. the new Bloodline feud. I feel like it’s either going to be The Rock, Reigns, Cody, and Jimmy Uso against the new Bloodline at Survivor Series, and The Rock will turn on Cody, or we’ll get a new member added to Reigns’ version of the Bloodline.

There was also the big announcement of the Crown Jewel Championship for next month’s Saudi PLE. I kind of like the idea of having the two top champions fight against each other every year to find out who’s the better champ, but they really need to follow through on this afterward and not just make it a one-and-done deal like they did with the Greatest Royal Rumble Championship. Also, during that segment, I liked the tease of Goldberg vs. Gunther.

If you’ve been following the story, Goldberg has wanted a retirement match in WWE and hasn’t stopped talking about it for over a year now. So, this is a way for WWE to actually give him that match, and I’m sure Gunther will be more than happy to carry him to a decent match, while Goldberg does the right thing and puts him over in the end. This would put the rocket on Gunther’s back and make him a superstar.

In the end, I really like this 5-match PLE format that WWE is doing for their smaller shows, as it gives every match a chance to feel important and special while advancing the stories that WWE wants to tell, and Bad Blood was no different. So, for all the WWE haters, I truly feel like you should give them another chance, or at least just watch the Hell in a Cell match, because the WWE product is a lot better now than it was two years ago.
