John Cena vs. Randy Orton officially set for WWE SmackDown 2025 in St. Louis

As seen during the April 25th 2025 edition of WWE Smackdown, there was an in-ring promo battle between WWE champion John Cena and Randy Orton. The tension escalated as Cena threatened to erase Orton’s family legacy, refusing a title match on SmackDown but agreed to face Orton at the 2025 Backlash PLE in St. Louis.

The segment ended with Cena attacking Orton, only to be countered with an RKO. Orton stood tall with Cena’s title and the match was later confirmed by the announcers.
