Update on the situation between Jade Cargill and AEW (includes Rampage spoiler)

After being gone for months, Jade Cargill made her return to AEW during the September 9th 2023 edition of Collision. A match between Cargill and TBS champion Kris Statlander was set up for the September 15th 2023 edition of Rampage. Jade ended up losing clean to Statlander and as previously noted, the belief is that the Rampage match could be Jade’s final one with AEW.

In regards to Jade’s contract talks with AEW, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com reported that the two sides didn’t come to terms on a money figure for a new deal. Meltzer was told from one person in WWE that while the news came suddenly, it’s expected that Jade will be joining the company once she officially becomes a free agent.

Meltzer also stated the following…

“Those in WWE believed she was coming and that it would be on the main roster rather than developmental, but I could see that going either way. Another person in WWE described it to us as that her name was being talked about a lot, but the deal was not completed at press time.”
