Update on Shawn Michaels potentially taking over Bruce Prichard’s WWE role as Executive Director

Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com provided additional details following reports that Shawn Michaels is expected to take over Bruce Prichard’s Executive Director role in WWE. Meltzer noted that the position would require Michaels to travel to television twice a week, potentially making it difficult for him to continue overseeing NXT. However, with reports of Michaels potentially leaving NXT already circulating, those discussions could take place sooner. Meltzer was told that Michaels is interested in taking on more responsibilities, but Prichard’s role involves significant administrative work that Michaels has not handled previously. Ed Koskey has performed those duties for years, while Matt Bloom traditionally handled that aspect of the job in NXT.

Meltzer also noted that WWE could restructure the responsibilities to involve multiple people. Following the reports about Michaels, names including CM Punk, AJ Styles, and Bayley have been mentioned in discussions about potential future involvement in developmental.
