Unified WWE Universal title match set up for the 2023 Royal Rumble PLE

During the January 6th 2023 edition of WWE RAW, there was a promo segment with The Bloodline. Reigns was upset over Sami Zayn’s loss from the previous week but then Kevin Owens interrupted the segment. Owens said Reigns shouldn’t worry about Zayn and challenged Reigns to a match at the 2023 Royal Rumble PLE.

The match was later made official for the Rumble.
