Sheamus addresses his absence from WWE television in 2026

WWE star Sheamus has not wrestled since the November 17th 2025 edition of RAW from Madison Square Garden. In December, it was reported that he underwent shoulder surgery.

While speaking to Off The Ball, Sheamus addressed his recovery…

“This one’s been difficult. It kind of came out of nowhere. I started noticing my shoulder around May or June, and then I had the Clash in Paris with Rusev. It was bothering me, and I thought I tore it. I got a couple of shots in there, and it felt good for a little while, but ultimately it was just a matter of time before it stopped moving on me.

My thing has always been very physical. I’ve always prided myself on a very physical style. A lot of my opponents don’t like that, but tough luck. That’s my thing—it’s always been to go out there and put on a banger match of the night every single time. I don’t care if I get zero buildup, a week of buildup, or four weeks. I don’t get the luxury of having these long in-ring segments that go on forever. I just go out there, and my goal is to put on a banger—a physical match that nobody has seen anything like—and get the crowd on their feet, out of their chairs. That’s what I do, and I do it better than anybody.

Of course, it comes with situations where I can get banged up as well, and this shoulder issue was one of them. I really tried to push through it until the point where I couldn’t even move my arm. So I had surgery on December 30th, and ever since then I’ve been in rehab. But I’m dying to get back in that ring. I’m dying to get back to work. I’ve got cabin fever. I still have a lot to give in this business, and I’m still as passionate now—probably more than when I first started.”
