Ric Flair issues response to negative feedback over his comments about Omega vs. Ospreay
As seen during the 2026 AEW All In: London PPV event, Will Ospreay defeated Kenny Omega to become the AEW men’s world champion. In a post via Twitter/X, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair stated that comparing Omega vs. Ospreay to his matches against Ricky Steamboat was like “comparing the Mississippi River to the Pacific Ocean.”
After both Flair and Eric Bischoff received criticism for their public comments about the match, Flair wrote the following message…
“Please don’t put me in the same category as Eric Bischoff!
I thoroughly enjoyed the match. I know both Kenny and Will and have sung their praises to them personally. I have nothing but respect for them.
When I tweeted this yesterday, it’s just an opinion, like every other sport. It’s like watching Get Up or First Take on ESPN. It doesn’t mean it’s right, and it doesn’t mean it’s wrong. It’s just an opinion.
Eric should just focus on his new amateur wrestling project. The same applies to Jim Ross and his comments. If you mention my name, of course I am going to respond.”
