Details regarding how Stephanie Vaquer started dating WWE NXT star Myles Borne
While speaking to Denise Salcedo, NXT star Myles Borne commented on how he started dating WWE women’s world champion Stephanie Vaquer…
“When we first saw each other, we noticed. And then for the first couple of weeks, we knew we liked each other, but I would try to build up the courage to talk to her, and as soon as we crossed paths, I’d go the opposite direction. I promise, every time. And she noticed it.
I remember one time we were backstage—I was coming in through one door to go to catering, and she was coming through another door—and as we crossed paths, I turned back around and walked out. I didn’t even eat. I said, ‘Nope, I’m not eating now. I’m just going to be hungry,’ because I was still trying to figure out what I wanted to say to her.
Eventually, she gave me no choice. She messaged me and said, ‘Hey, let’s hang out. Let’s go have dinner.’ And we did. That’s when I was like, okay, now I have no choice—I have to build up the courage and talk to her. And it was great. The connection from the first day—it’s just, she’s a genuinely amazing person, and I’m lucky, you know?
So yeah, to all the guys out there who are mad—hey, I get it. I get it. But like I said, I want to win in every aspect of life, and that’s one of the aspects.”
Borne also addressed how they are able to communicate due to his hearing disability and English not being her first language…
“You know, honestly, when we first started talking, I didn’t even think about how this is going to be difficult. I didn’t even think about that. And people would ask that question, ‘How do they communicate?’ We’ve never had trouble talking. And I started thinking, okay, you know, that makes sense—her first language is a completely different language, a completely different world to mine.
And I’m also completely different—not just a different language, but I’m hearing impaired. So we have two different struggles. But to be honest, she is the smartest woman I’ve ever met. I mean, the way she picked up on English blows my mind. I still struggle with English. I mean, people say it all the time, ‘Oh, he said this wrong.’ I know—I have a speech impediment. English is my first language, I’ve lived here my whole life, and I still struggle with it. And the fact that she comes in here and after one year she can have an entire conversation with me without missing a beat—I’m just… sometimes I forget. I don’t even pay attention to what she’s saying, I’m just like, ‘Wow. How are you doing this?'”
