Chelsea Green once spoke with Triple H about taking her character in a “more serious direction”

As seen during the 2026 WWE SummerSlam Sunday PLE, Chelsea Green became the Interim WWE Women’s Champion by winning a five-way ladder match. While speaking with Complex Graps, Chelsea was asked if she had ever considered making a change to her character. Here was her response…

“About a year ago, I had a conversation with Hunter [Triple H]. We sat down and talked about me going in a more serious direction.

Literally the next week, I was put in a comedy spot that lasted like 30 seconds, and I was pinned. I’m like, ‘Well, I fear we’re here to stay.’

And him and I never spoke about it again.

It’s such a funny conversation to think about because we were like, ‘Yeah, and I’ll stop doing this, and I’ll stop doing that, and I’ll look more serious, and I’ll be more serious, and I’ll do my moves.’

And then I literally believe I went and took the Jaded.

So, you know, I feel like I found my niche. I found my lane. And, like, why did I try to get out of the lane? The lane works. It’s my lane. I made the lane. I’m going to stay in the lane.

And I invite others to come in and try it. But at the end of the day, I know that what I do, I do it better than anyone else. And that’s why it works. And that’s why people believe it. And that’s why they turned me babyface naturally, because everyone was like, ‘Wait, this is so stupid… we like it. She’s so annoying. We like it.'”
