What was reportedly said during WWE employee meeting about the return of Vince McMahon
As previously noted, Vince McMahon has been reinstated to the WWE Board of Directors shortly after it was reported that McMahon was planning to make a WWE return.
WWE held a meeting with employees around 3:45 PM Eastern time regarding the matter. According to Fightful.com, WWE talent were not involved in the meeting. Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com noted that the meeting lasted about ten minutes. It was said to been a “rah rah” style meeting to raise spirits but employee questions were not taken. Johnson noted the following…
“Employees were reiterated that there would be no changes to management or their responsibilities at this time. So, Paul Levesque [Triple H], Stephanie McMahon, Nick Khan, Frank Riddick III (who was on the call), etc. would remain in place in their current positions and jobs. It was also pushed that the move was a big positive and made to give the company everything they needed to make the most of their future rights revenue sales (i.e. new deals for Raw, Smackdown, etc.) and to gauge the market for potential sale of the company with the idea that with McMahon back, the entire company would all be on the same page in maximizing WWE’s potential leading into the future.”
It was said to have been “greatly emphasized” that assumptions shouldn’t be made about a sale happening and it will ultimately depend on a decision from Vince McMahon. Johnson added that a “possible avenue” for the company to be taken private again was brought up if it was “the best outcome for shareholders.”
