What a top WWE star allegedly said about wrestlers potentially pulling out of Crown Jewel
Despite United States travel warnings related to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, both the Canelo Alvarez vs. Christian Mbilli boxing match on October 31st and WWE Crown Jewel on November 7th remain scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com reported that most of the key personnel involved with the boxing event are already in Saudi Arabia. Many others, if not most, are flying into Bahrain and then making the five-hour drive to Riyadh.
According to Meltzer, there are no reports of WWE talent pulling out of Crown Jewel or even being given the option to do so. Meltzer noted that “one top star in the company told us that, to put it in the nicest of terms, declining to go is something very much not being encouraged.”
Meltzer also addressed online speculation that one or two WWE stars may have chosen not to travel because they were absent from the card. However, he was told that those talents were never booked for the event and that nobody has declined to go.
