Update on how long Eddie Kingston is expected to be out of action in AEW
As previously noted, Eddie Kingston was attacked by The Young Bucks and Jack Perry at the NJPW Resurgence event in Ontario, CA. The angle was meant to build up The Bucks, Perry, and Kazuchika Okada vs. Kingston, Bryan Danielson, and FTR in an Anarchy in the Arena match at the 2024 AEW Double or Nothing PPV event. However, it was reported that Kingston had been hurt during his match at the event.
In an update, Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com is reporting that Eddie met with surgeons today to discuss the situation. Due to the nature of Eddie’s injuries, he won’t likely be having surgery to repair his ACL and meniscus tears until July at the earliest. Eddie told PWInsider that he was advised to wait for his tibular frature to heal and do some physical therapy before his knee is dealt with.
After surgery is completed, it will likely be ten months until Eddie can return to the ring. If everything goes according to plan, Eddie is expected to be out of action until around May of 2025. Kingston told PWInsider, “Not mad. I don’t give a f***. It’s what happens when you wrestle. Just gotta get f**king better.”
