Update on CM Punk being suspended by AEW following his backstage altercation with Jack Perry
As previously noted, it was confirmed by Sports Illustrated that CM Punk and Jack Perry have been suspended by AEW due to their backstage altercation at the 2023 All In PPV event.
After the news broke of the suspensions, Nick Hausman of HausOfWrestling.com stated the following…
“Haus of Wrestling has learned that while no one from AEW has directly talked to him [CM Punk] about his suspension, he was informed of it by his lawyer before the report broke this morning.”
During Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com commented on how it’s unlikely that Punk will be wrestling at the All Out PPV event in his hometown of Chicago, IL…
“From the WBD [Warner Brothers Discovery] side, I was told yesterday that the CM Punk match is off the show. That is what I was told. Later I asked around and people were like yea, they’re suspended, there’s gonna be an investigation. I can confirm there is an investigation going on…”
Alvarez added that he doesn’t expect the investigation to be wrapped up by the weekend.
