The Motor City Machine Guns tease next move after being released from WWE
The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) were among several WWE departures announced on April 24th 2026. This week, Shelley and Sabin released a comedic video in which Shelley compares Sabin’s recent emotions to the five stages of grief.
After Sabin admits he’s been on an emotional roller coaster over the past few months, Shelley walks him through denial, anger, bargaining, and depression, with Sabin acting out each stage in an exaggerated fashion. The skit then shifts when the Motor City Machine Guns open a mysterious package addressed to both of them containing what they claim are contract offers from several wrestling promotions, including FMW, CyberFight, WAR (Wrestle and Romance), and IWA Mid-South.
As they sort through the offers, Sabin eventually discovers a final contract at the bottom of the package that leaves him visibly excited. However, the video never reveals which promotion made the offer. Shelley then concludes the skit by telling Sabin that he has finally reached the fifth stage of grief: acceptance.
