Report on WWE’s average live event attendance in 2026 compared to previous years
Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that according to WrestleTix, WWE’s average live event attendance for the first six months of 2026 is 10,810. While that marks a 23.5% decline from the 14,132 average during the same period in 2025, Meltzer pointed out that the current figures are still among the strongest in company history. He added that an average attendance of 6,000 has historically been considered “normal,” while anything above 7,000 is “very good.” WWE finished 2025 with a company-record average of 13,200, and the only other full years to surpass a 10,000 average were 2024 (10,700), 2001 (10,200), 2000 (11,800), and 1999 (10,600).
Meltzer also noted that, prior to 2023, the last year WWE averaged more than 7,000 fans was 2006. He pointed out that attendance during John Cena’s run as the company’s top star was significantly lower than current levels, despite Cena often being regarded as one of WWE’s biggest draws.
Meltzer added that the previous boom period ended following Steve Austin’s heel turn in 2001 and The Rock transitioning to Hollywood, with attendance declining even after WWE acquired WCW and ECW. He concluded by noting that WWE’s business rebounded after the company faced renewed competition beginning in 2019.
