Major update regarding Cody Rhodes and WWE

While there were rumors of Cody Rhodes making his return to WWE during the March 14th 2022 edition of RAW in Jacksonville, FL, Rhodes ultimately did not make an appearance. WWE did tease Rhodes at the end of the show after Seth Rollins lost his match against Kevin Owens for a Wrestlemania 38 spot with Graves saying the following line…

“All of Seth Rollins hopes and Wrestlemania dreams were dashed tonight.”

While there have been conflicting reports about Cody and WWE in recent weeks, Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com provided a “definitive” update on the matter…

“Cody Rhodes has signed with WWE, multiple WWE sources have confirmed. Rhodes inked his deal about 10-14 days ago. The current plan is to have Rhodes debut Wrestlemania weekend with the early word among those in the company being that Rhodes will be on the RAW brand.”

It has been rumored that Rhodes will end up being Rollins’ opponent for Wrestlemania 38. In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted the following about the match…

“Exactly how this match ends up built up isn’t clear past that aside from a hiccup when there was talk of it being in jeopardy, it’s been listed for weeks. Whether it gets announced ahead of time, or ends up being like the Hardys return years ago, where he shows up for the match the day of the show, is unclear.”

According to Fightful.com, Rhodes has travel arrangements to attend Wrestlemania Sunday for the time being but that could end up being changed.
