How several WWE talent reportedly feel about their Def Rebel produced theme songs
Last month, there was reported speculation that music group Def Rebel could be done with WWE when their contracts expire.
According to a report from Fightful.com, several WWE talents have expressed negativity and frustration towards their Def Rebel produced theme songs. Despite asking, multiple WWE stars were reportedly not told why their entrance music changed from CFO$ to Def Rebel. It was also noted that the talent spoken to claim they’ve had no direct contact or have even met the group.
In regards to WWE looking to hire a Director of Music Strategy & Operations amidst rumors about Def Rebel, one WWE name stated that they hope for a more “motivated and personalized” approach to entrance music going forward. At this time, Jim Johnston isn’t expected back while CFO$ had a financial falling out with WWE and their publisher which led to the group disbanding.
In December of 2023, it was reported that WWE had considered changing Randy Orton’s theme song for his comeback. However, Orton was said to have rejected proposed remixes from Def Rebel.
Earlier this year, a video of Seth Rollins from the 2024 Royal Rumble went viral. Rollins was watching the Rumble match but didn’t immediately recognize who was coming out from the entrance music.
Y’all remember when Seth Rollins didn’t even know who was coming out because of the theme song? Def Rebel bro 😭 pic.twitter.com/5xMEHk6bZ8
