Bryan Danielson out of action in AEW due to a concussion?

As previously noted, Bryan Danielson announced during the June 22nd 2022 edition of AEW Dynamite that he won’t be able to compete at the Forbidden Door PPV and Zack Sabre Jr. will have a mystery opponent.

There was initial concern about the nature of Danielson’s injury after it was said that he couldn’t fly to an event. According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, it was believed that Danielson suffered a concussion during the Anarchy in the Arena match at the 2022 Double or Nothing PPV. However, details regarding Danielson’s injury have been kept quiet by AEW. Meltzer noted that AEW has been following WWE’s lead of trying not to acknowledge “the two C’s” (Covid-19 and concussions) publicly.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com wrote the following about Bryan’s promo from Dynamite…

“We had been told he was expected to be on this show, but if it was a concussion, they are unpredictable and when you’re talking not passing protocol a month out, and with his history, that’s not a good sign.”

Danielson said the following during his Dynamite promo…

“My mind is working at full 100 capacity. I can jump into the ring, I can read 500 words a minute, I can run two miles and I won’t even break a sweat so don’t worry about me coming back.”
