Brie Bella says WWE considered calling off her match at SummerSlam after she was injured

As seen during the 2026 WWE SummerSlam Saturday PLE, Fatal Influence defeated The Bella Twins and Paige. At one point, Brie suffered a broken scapula.

In a video published to YouTube, Brie commented on being injured during the match…

“What’s even crazier is that some of the girls were talking about is when you broke your ankle, you continued the match, and then I broke my shoulder. And it’s so funny because you and I-I don’t know if it’s because we’re people pleasers—but the whole time in my head, I’m like, ‘No, I got to stay in so Nikki can get the hot tag.’

Because, you know, they were telling me, ‘Stay down,’ or they were thinking about calling the match. And I’m like, ‘No, no, no.’ But even though I was in crazy pain, all I could think about was like, ‘Nikki’s got to hit that comeback.'”

Nikki then stated the following…

“It’s crazy because how we both finished matches with really bad breaks and with multiple breaks. Do you know what I mean? And wild that you did that with multiple breaks in your shoulder.

I didn’t see you not hit the missile dropkick because I was selling, and so I would have immediately known. But the minute you came over to me and you’re like, ‘I can’t grab Lainey,’ I was like, ‘Oh, sh*t.'”
