AEW fans dealt with issues leaving the stadium after the 2026 Double or Nothing PPV event

Several fans reported issues leaving AEW Double or Nothing 2026 at Louis Armstrong Stadium following the event. One person claimed that thousands of attendees were stuck on a bridge outside the venue after a gate was closed, forcing people to turn back.

Others noted that fans were being funneled onto a single ramp for access to the train and parking lots, with no visible crowd control assistance from the MTA or NYPD. Another attendee complained that the event ended too late, resulting in limited train access after 1:00 AM.

One fan said they avoided the congestion by leaving the bridge area early, finding another route around the stadium, and quickly securing a Lyft while many others remained stranded waiting for the gate to reopen.

Jon Alba of SI.com, who was in attendance for the show, stated the following…

“They closed the gates before the press conference even got done. We had to walk all away around the complex through back areas. Thankfully stadium staff helped out.”

Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com also commented on the situation…

“There was also apparently a problem for fans leaving as the boardwalk between the stadium and Citifield, The NYC subway and the Long Island Railroad had been closed. That sounds like there was some sort of miscommunication between the stadium and the Parks Department, which controls that boardwalk. I’ve seen people theorizing that AEW running late led to fans left stranded because public transportation shut down, but that’s 100% untrue as the NYC subways don’t shut down – they run 24/7.”
