News regarding restrictions that AEW reportedly faced during the 2026 Stadium Stampede match at Double or Nothing
As seen during the 2026 AEW Double or Nothing PPV event, Chris Jericho’s team defeated Ricochet’s team in a Stadium Stampede match. According to Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com, the New York State Athletic Commission wouldn’t allow blood or brawling through the crowd. Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, who was in attendance for the event, confirmed that any blood on the show was legitimate and hardway.
However, Johnson also stated the following…
“There was a rumor online that the New York State Athletic Commision wouldn’t allow fighting in the crowd. Well, The Young Bucks and The Dogs fought from the floor to the second level of the stadium and back down to the floor again, so that rumor wasn’t true.”
While speaking to the media after the show, AEW President Tony Khan said AEW “hit a home run” with the event and described Stadium Stampede as one of the best versions of the match the company has produced. He also stated that AEW succeeded in keeping the state of New York happy.
