Report: Pac dealt with lung issues and blood clots in recent years
In a post via Twitter/X on September 27th 2026, AEW officially announced that Pac aka Neville passed away at the age of 40. Pac was found dead inside a rental car in a Chicago-area parking lot less than 24 hours after the All Out PPV event.
According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, Pac had a history of lung issues and blood clots, which influenced his travel schedule. Unlike Will Ospreay, who frequently flies between the United States and England, Pac reportedly took fewer flights, spent more time in the United States, and then took several weeks off in the United Kingdom.
Meltzer noted that Pac was known for his intense training regimen, including weightlifting and cardio, making his death from bronchial asthma particularly shocking.
Dr. Alex Patel, a critical care physician from Toronto, told Meltzer that people who die from severe asthma attacks typically have a history of previous asthma-related hospitalizations, although there was no indication that this applied to Pac. Patel described the situation as “very sad and rare.”
Regarding Pac’s 2023 blood clot issues, Patel explained that air travel, particularly long-haul flights, is a recognized risk factor for pulmonary embolisms. He noted that precautions such as wearing compression stockings, walking during flights, and, in some cases, taking blood thinners can help reduce the risk.
Patel also discussed the possibility that previous blood clots could have affected Pac’s heart function and potentially increased his risk of complications from a severe asthma attack. Meltzer provided the following quote from Patel…
“If you do have underlying blood clots, they can affect the right side of your heart. There is some link between severe asthma attacks, and death, occurring more in people who have underlying heart issues so certainly if the right side of his heart was affected, it could lead them at higher risk for asthmatic complications. Difficult to know, though without a heart or echo report on what his underlying heart function was, and if it was affected by the pulmonary embolism.”
Patel emphasized that such cases are extremely rare, describing Pac’s death as a freak occurrence. He added that the rapid onset of the attack left little time for medical intervention and suggested that the outcome might have been different had Pac been at a wrestling event where doctors were present.
