What is being said about why Sheamus hasn’t debuted with AEW yet
Former WWE star Sheamus (Stephen Farrelly) is now a free agent after he “rejected a restructured extension” from WWE earlier in 2026. In regards to why Sheamus hasn’t debuted with AEW yet, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com noted the following…
“There doesn’t seem to be a huge urgency in bringing him in, but there are some heavy hitters like Claudio Castagnoli and Adam Copeland that have made it clear that they would like him there. Sheamus has had talks with other companies. I don’t know if he’s had direct talks with All Elite Wrestling, but nothing seems imminent.”
Sheamus is scheduled to appear at The Big Event NY fan convention on November 14th, the same day AEW holds its Full Gear PPV event in Phoenix, AZ. According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, Sheamus recently asked if he could leave the convention early because he needed to attend a wedding.
Meltzer described the request as a potential twist by stating, “Might be nothing. Might be something.”
When asked about an update on Sheamus to AEW, @SeanRossSapp responded on Select Answers on @FightfulSelect with this:
