Report: WWE is not planning a CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes match for WrestleMania 43 despite rumors

Last week, there was talk that the two main events for WrestleMania 2027 would be Cody Rhodes vs. CM Punk on night one and Roman Reigns vs. Oba Femi on night two.

In an update, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com reported that the Reigns vs. Femi match is consistent with what he has been told, but Rhodes vs. Punk is not currently the plan. Meltzer noted that Rhodes vs. Punk would make sense, as they are the two top stars on the SmackDown brand and have largely been kept apart since their August 1st SummerSlam title match. However, he emphasized that the match is not currently planned for WrestleMania.

Meltzer also pointed out that it is only October and WrestleMania plans typically change multiple times due to injuries or other circumstances.
