News regarding WWE’s future in Mexico following the company’s successful events in Mexico City
WWE announced a combined attendance of 49,017 for three events at Arena CDMX in Mexico City this past week. According to WrestleVotes Radio, WWE is expected to consider once again holding RAW and SmackDown in Mexico City around next year’s TripleMania, with the goal of creating a destination weekend.
A source told WrestleVotes that they would be surprised if all three shows did not take place together again, citing the success of this year’s weekend in areas including ticket sales, merchandise, and the overall enthusiasm from the city and talent involved.
It was also noted that next year’s TripleMania will be the 35th edition of the event, and WWE is reportedly looking to capitalize on the anniversary.
WrestleVotes concluded that, based on the success of this year’s weekend, the expectation is that WWE will look to repeat the setup with SmackDown followed by RAW.
