An emotional Malakai Black pays tribute to the late “Butcher” Andy Williams at wrestling event

It was reported that Andy Williams, known as The Butcher from his time in AEW and on the independent wrestling scene, passed away after suffering a medical emergency following a tag team match at Saturday night’s Enjoy Wrestling event in Pittsburgh, PA.

After winning the Progress Wrestling men’s world title on Sunday, former WWE star Malakai Black paid an emotional tribute to Williams…

“About an hour ago, I was informed that one of my best friends, Andy Williams, had passed away. So, The Butcher from AEW was one of my best friends, so I had to hold it together. I couldn’t for the first five minutes. I was hysterical backstage. I had to put it in a box.

There’s no good thing that I can say that makes your heart hurt less, or mind hurt less. But that’s also why we are family, because we share that grief. So instead of cheering for me, I want you, as loud as you humanly can, cheer for Andy one final time.”
