WWE NXT star Thea Hail reveals that she was diagnosed with alopecia areata
WWE NXT star Thea Hail has revealed that she was recently diagnosed with alopecia areata. Alopecia areata is an autoimmune condition that causes the immune system to mistakenly attack hair follicles, resulting in patches of hair loss, often appearing suddenly. It can affect the scalp, eyebrows, eyelashes, or other body hair. Hair can sometimes grow back on its own, although the condition can recur.
Hail shared the news on Instagram while maintaining her sense of humor about the situation, showing a small bald patch on her scalp along with photos of herself with and without hair.
Hail wrote, “I now have alopecia areata… I have literally manifested going bald. Anyways swipe to see my naked scalp and some cute pics of me with and without hair.”
Several fellow wrestlers showed their support in the comments. Nikkita Lyons jokingly responded, “You most definitely manifested it. Careful w slide 6 bc you’re literally asking for it.”
Irish wrestler Amira Blair also shared that she was going through the same experience, writing, “I’m so sorry this has happened to you. I’m going through the same as we speak. We are in a job where stress is literally what we eat for breakfast so it’s bound to happen! The only light at the end of the tunnel is that it grows back! You can cover it up with some eyeshadow or some root spray and it doesn’t control you! You can do this.”
