Full WWE SmackDown spoilers for the August 28th 2026 edition

After the August 24th 2026 edition of WWE RAW went off the air, matches and segments were taped for the August 28th 2026 edition of SmackDown. Here are the spoiler results courtesy of Tom Sherwood…

* Kevin Owens opened the show with a promo, but CM Punk interrupted. Gunther then interrupted Punk, followed by Finn Balor. This led to Kevin Owens vs. Gunther vs. Finn Balor in a #1 contender’s match being set up.

* The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax & Lash Legend) defeated Tiffany Stratton and Chelsea Green. Chelsea was taken away by medics during the match but returned and continued competing.

* Gunther interrupted a backstage meeting between Nick Aldis and Danhausen.

* There was an verbal confrontation in the ring between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton. Orton tried to get Cody to violate their “no-touch” policy by mentioning Cody’s “trashy ass wife.”

* Jacy Jayne defeated Paige. Nikki Bella made her return, jumping Paige after the match.

* Blake Monroe participated in a backstage interview, but Giulia attacked her and beat her down.

* Gunther vs. Finn Balor vs. Kevin Owens took place as the #1 contender’s match, but the bout was thrown out when Sami Zayn interfered. CM Punk came out after the match, but Sami Zayn laid everyone out with the championship to close the segment.
