Athena reveals that she suffered an asthma attack during ROH match

At ROH Death Before Dishonor on August 21st 2026, Athena successfully defended her ROH women’s world championship against Hazuki. However, a clip from the match went viral on social media that showed Athena lying at ringside and taking a moment to recover while a fan could be heard pleading with her to get back up.

Athena addressed the incident in a post via Twitter/X…

“Yeah…. so ….had an asthma attack mid match…. glad my minions had my back!!! A major thank you to AEW & ROH staff for the quick response… keeping the #ForeverROHChamp in peak condition.”
