Ric Flair publicly asks his son David to “stand on your own two feet” but then deletes the post
In a post via Twitter/X, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair appeared to publicly threaten legal action over the use of the “Flair” trademark. Flair suggested the dispute involved a family member, stating that their relationship ended nine years ago and claiming his attempts to repair it had been rejected.
While Flair did not mention anyone by name, the posts fueled speculation that he was referring to his son, David Flair. Public records connect David Richard Fliehr to Green Flair Recycling LLC, a Shelby, North Carolina-based recycling and freight transportation company.
Flair confirmed that he was referring to his son with the following message…
“I’m obviously not suing my son. Just reminding him that you can’t have the best of both worlds!
Use your God-given name, Flier, which isn’t worth a cup of coffee, or your wife’s name, who has had three generations of success. Also, please don’t sell my robes that I let you use during your career, as you have already sold one. You’re 47 years old… now stand on your own two feet, please.”
Flair ended up deleting the post. Flair also deleted his other messages about the “Flair” trademark.
