A “pretty majorly pushed talent” in WWE allegedly agreed to take a 50% pay cut

On May 2nd 2026, it was reported that The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) mutually agreed to part ways with WWE. It was noted by Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline that the two men were asked to restructure their contracts, but they didn’t like the deals, so they were then granted their release.

There is speculation that others in WWE were asked to have their contracts “restructured” by TKO (WWE’s parent company) and Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com noted the following…

“PWInsider.com was told of a pretty majorly pushed talent who was asked to take a 50% pay cut, and allegedly did. I’m not naming the talent because I have no way, yet, to confirm this was the case, but the timing of that claim and what happened the very next day was very, very interesting, to say the least. As always, until fully confirmed, take that for what it is, but the timing, especially coming out of WrestleMania season, is notable.”
