Bryan Clark of Kronik comments on what went wrong with the team’s brief WWE run in 2001

While speaking to Wrestling Life Online, Bryan Clark of Kronik commented on what went wrong with the team’s brief WWE run in 2001…

“We [him and Brian Adams] just got here. Why are we in a pay-per-view two weeks later? You know, why are we working with Kane and Undertaker? Why wouldn’t we build this up? We just got here—get us established.

And then I even mentioned to some of the agents, I was like, ‘Hey, it’d be good if you put us on the road for a couple of weeks,’ because, remember, we had been off. Yeah, we were in shape, but there’s a difference between being in shape and being in ring shape.

So I made that suggestion, and it was completely shot down. It was like, ‘Oh, okay.’ Well, I knew once those things that I was suggesting—and the way things were happening, and Brian was seeing it at the same time—it was like, this doesn’t feel right now. This is not feeling like it should.

So yeah, it was sort of out of our control. We tried as far as—and I think going into that match, and I’ll show you how rushed it was—if you look at that match, there were a lot of us in there who were injured. I wasn’t 100%. I know Brian wasn’t. I don’t think Taker was. And if you look at Kane, he had a huge staph infection on his arm. His arm was wrapped—he hadn’t even recovered from that.

So I don’t know why they were pushing it so fast. I don’t understand that. Still to this day, I don’t. I mean, I’m sure there’s some kind of inside political reason that I don’t know about, and it doesn’t keep me up at night. It just is what it is, you know?”

Kronik ended up being released shortly after the match.
