Wrestler that WWE reportedly had interest in debuts with AEW on Dynamite
In January of 2026, it was reported that WWE had discussed David Finlay as a potential signing, with strong interest said to be coming from NXT.
Instead, Finlay debuted with AEW during the March 4th 2026 edition of AEW Dynamite. Finlay attacked Orange Cassidy and Darby Allin with a shillelagh and aligned himself with Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors.
Tony Khan later confirmed that Finlay, Kidd, and Connors are all officially part of the AEW roster. According to Fightful.com, Finlay’s deal came together in the last week.
