Report: Montez Ford and WWE sued by security guard over “lap dance” on RAW

As first reported by POSTWrestling.com, a Cook County Sheriff’s officer who was working off-duty security at the July 6th 2026 edition of WWE Monday Night RAW has filed a lawsuit against WWE, Montez Ford (Kenneth Crawford), and WWE subsidiary Event Services, LLC, alleging that Ford performed an unwanted sexualized ‘lap dance’ on him during a live Netflix broadcast and that the footage was subsequently promoted on social media.

The lawsuit was filed Wednesday in the Circuit Court of Cook County by Noel Lucas, who alleges 14 counts, including assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and violations of the Illinois Gender Violence Act.

The incident allegedly occurred during The Street Profits’ entrance at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, as Ford and Angelo Dawkins made their way to the ring for a match. According to the complaint, Lucas was instructed by a WWE employee to take a position near ringside when Ford approached him and performed a sexually provocative dance without his consent.

Lucas alleges that the video received hundreds of thousands of views on social media, including on WWE and Ford’s accounts, making him publicly recognizable. He claims that when he returned to his full-time job at a courthouse the following day, members of the public recognized and mocked him by imitating the movements shown in the video. The lawsuit also alleges that his children were mocked at school because of the incident.

Lucas claims he has suffered humiliation, embarrassment, and emotional distress, and argues that WWE and Ford used his image for commercial purposes in violation of the Illinois Right of Publicity Act.

“Like so many law enforcement officers, Mr. Lucas works a second job in order to better provide for his children,” Lucas’s attorney, Whitney Barr, said in a press release provided to POSTWrestling.com.

Lucas is seeking unspecified monetary damages, punitive damages, legal costs, and an order preventing WWE and Ford from using his identity.

WWE did not immediately respond to a request for comment. As of Thursday evening, the current version of the July 6th RAW on Netflix no longer included the interaction, although the clip remained available online.

A case management hearing is scheduled for December 10th. Lucas is represented by Barr and Alexis Martin of Caffarelli & Martin Ltd.
