Damian Priest reveals what he has been doing as part of his reduced in-ring schedule with WWE

While speaking to The Sal Licata Show, Damian Priest revealed what he has been doing as part of his reduced in-ring schedule with WWE…

“Being backstage and just helping—just being there and being inviting—especially for younger talent that needed advice, I was there for that.

Even talent who’ve been around for a while would come up and ask, ‘Hey, did you watch that? What did you think of this? What did you think of that?’ I think it was really about being able to help on that side and learn some of the backstage elements—watching the producers and how they do their jobs, picking up on little things, talking to the writers and seeing how they come up with ideas and why we do what we do.

I just tried to pick people’s brains and use that time to learn. I had the chance to really sit back and watch. One positive was that I got to enjoy the show a little differently. I was watching the matches and watching my friends perform. Before, even though I could watch, I was still focused on what I had to do, so my mind was always somewhere else. This time, I was fully present. I could just focus on what I was seeing and enjoy it in a different way.

Those are the good things you can take from a negative situation—finding something productive in it and keeping your headspace a little more positive.”
