Backstage news regarding former AEW star Danhausen signing with WWE

As seen during the 2026 WWE Elimination Chamber PLE, Danhausen made his WWE debut as the man in the mystery crate. According to a report from BodySlam.net, Danhausen has signed a multi-year contract with WWE. The company was looking to hire him back in July of 2025 but his AEW deal was extended due to injuries.

Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that it was not a unanimous decision to bring in Danhausen…

“People pushed for him. There were people who didn’t want him. This was not a unanimous decision or anything like that. I would guess that the people who didn’t want him are thinking that, ‘Hmm, sure didn’t work out so well this time.’ But in time, time will tell. He’ll get another chance. Maybe he’ll be The Gobbledy Gooker and maybe he’ll be R-Truth. It’ll be one or the other.” (quote courtesy of WrestlePurists.com)

After the Chamber event, Paul “Triple H” Levesque commented on Danhausen’s debut…

“Michael Cole got a nice bucket of teeth. I think we’re in for a fun time… whatever it is, it’s gonna be a blast.”

Danhausen reacted to his debut with the following post via Twitter/X…

“Danhausen is ALIVE and back inside your television.”
