Ava makes official announcement regarding the WWE NXT title following Oba Femi’s departure

As seen during the January 6th 2026 edition of WWE NXT, Oba Femi left his NXT championship in the ring. The next day, WWE officially confirmed that Femi vacated the title.

The January 13th edition of NXT opened with general manager Ava making an announcement about the title. Ava stated the following…

“On February 3rd, there is going to be a six-man ladder match. Whoever climbs the top of that ladder and pulls this championship down will become the new NXT champion. Qualifying matches for that will begin next week. I cannot wait to see who is going to step up and make this moment their own.”
