Hornswoggle’s son interested in becoming a professional wrestler
During an interview with TMZ.com’s Inside the Ring podcast, former WWE star Hornswoggle was asked if his son Landon has interest in becoming a professional wrestler. Here was Hornswoggle’s response…
“I know he does. It’s all he wants to do. Literally all he wants to do. He goes to our—so, I run a training school with my company as well—and all he wants to do is professionally wrestle. I cannot train him until he’s 17, because he’s already going to deal with nepotism stuff and all of that, and I won’t break the rules for him.
But he goes to our Sunday, like, our ‘secret Sunday’ classes, and he’s already doing stuff that advanced students are doing, because he’s been around it all his life. It’s all he knows and all he loves.
He finally showed interest in law enforcement a few months ago, and I was like, ‘Yes, please do that. Please do that.’ But he has such a love for this business and such a love for everything wrestling. He texts Ethan Page and Brian Myers and all of these guys—without me even being in the chats—just about wrestling and life and all of that. His knowledge and his desire for more knowledge is crazy.
And that’s another thing—obviously a connection and a bond that we have that’s very, very strong, and I’m so thankful for that one. But also, I need to tell him, and I need him to realize—and I think the older he gets, he realizes—that wrestling has to be the backup plan.
Because I tell all my students: it’s not like football, basketball, or baseball where you’re the number one in the country, so you’re going to get picked up. Wrestling isn’t about that. You can be the best professional wrestler in the world and you’re going to be making $20 a weekend. It’s luck, opportunity, and right place, right time nowadays.
It would be—very selfishly, and just being a dad—a really freaking cool feeling if he decides to do it and actually does something with it. I just know his passion for it, and that alone would make me happy.”
