Former WWE personality Dutch Mantell comments on if he ever heard Jim Ross make racist remarks

D-Von Dudley previously stated that he experienced racism in WWE from “certain top officials” but didn’t mention specific names. While speaking to Duke LovesRasslin, D-Von clarified his remarks

“Okay. Did I come out and say ‘Ten Gallon Hat’? Yes. Did Maven let the cat out of the bag? Yes. Was it JR [Jim Ross]? Yes, I did have a problem with JR back then. And I didn’t know why. I’m not angry at the man today. I know the man is going through some health problems, some health issues, you know, and just to show you where I am and the place that I’m in—I pray that God can heal his body.”

While speaking on his podcast, former WWE personality Dutch Mantell commented on if he ever heard JR make racist remarks…

“I’m not saying one way or the other, but I’ve been around Jim Ross a lot, and I’ve never heard him say anything racial in a derogatory manner. I’ve never heard him say that at all. Now, Bill Watts, that’s another story. But Jim, I— and I’m not defending him— but I’ve never found him to be the least bit… and of course, he could be, I don’t know, but I’ve never known him to be racist or even say any words that were racist.”

“I can’t speak for anybody else, and he may have been. I never knew Jim to be that way, because you know, if he was ever—if he was racist, I think he would have let something slip out at one point. But I never heard anything from him. Of course, that’s not condemning him and it’s not convicting him. He could have been one of the two. But me personally, all I can speak about is I never heard it.”
