How people within WWE were said to have reacted to Vince McMahon’s 80th birthday party
An 80th birthday party for Vince McMahon took place at New York’s Gotham Hall over the weekend. Jerry Lawler posted a photo on Instagram of attendees from the event that he ended up deleting. Lawler was seen in the photo with The Undertaker, John Cena, JBL, Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, The Miz, Maryse, Titus O’Neil, and Bruce Prichard.
According to Fightful Select, WWE talent spoken to weren’t surprised about the number of wrestlers in attendance for the party. One person who spent time working with Vince said “a lot of people here still feel like they owe Vince something, even though he made his money back on them tenfold.” A wrestler that wasn’t in attendance stated that there are still a number of talent who want to watch the Janel Grant legal case play out before deciding to sever ties with McMahon.
A person who was at the event said it was the first time they’d seen Vince in years noted that he “looked 80” before elaborating that he seemed more frail, walked slower, and looked his age in a manner that he hadn’t in decades before leaving WWE.
Someone clearly told Jerry Lawler to take it down. It’s no longer on his IG. Luckily I always keep video receipts for these things. https://t.co/xTsedlyLaX pic.twitter.com/VQqVyUxwaH
