WWE introducing a women’s Intercontinental title for the RAW brand

In a post via Twitter/X, Paul “Triple H” Levesque revealed the official bracket for the WWE women’s United States title tournament. The final match to crown the first champion will take place at Saturday Night’s Main Event next month.

Since the announcement, there has been internet speculation about WWE potentially adding an additional title. Just prior to the November 25th 2024 edition of RAW going on the air, General Manager Adam Pearce officially confirmed that a WWE Women’s Intercontinental championship is being introduced on RAW. Pearce started his promo by discussing the men’s IC tite…

“It has been the symbol of excellence for the real workhorses of our sport. Those that night in and night out, unquestionably leaving it all in the ring… the blood, sweat and tears. Guys, I feel the same way about the women’s division of Monday night RAW. Every week they pour their heart, their blood, sweat and tears into their craft. And every week, they prove to me time and again that they are the true workhorses in WWE.

Therefore, it is my distinct honor to present their own symbol of excellence to fight for. Ladies and gentlemen, I bring to you the brand new WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship. In the true world war spirit of this championship, it will not be earned easily. No. It will be earned with blood, sweat, tears. And it starts next week where we begin to grow the inaugural Women’s Intercontinental Champion. Ladies, put your name in the record book and earn it. That is official.”
