News regarding AEW’s plan to air video footage of CM Punk altercation with Jack Perry
During the April 6th 2024 edition of AEW Collision, it was announced that The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson) will present backstage footage from AEW All In and will discuss it for the first time on the April 10th edition of Dynamite. It was previously reported that video footage exists of the CM Punk backstage altercation with Jack Perry at All In. Punk recently told his side of the story during an interview with The MMA Hour.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com commented on AEW’s plan to air the footage. Here is what they said via WrestlingNews.co…
Alvarez: “It is true that on Dynamite, Tony Khan is airing the Jack Perry-CM Punk footage from All In. It is not to bait and switch. When I first saw the graphic saying the Young Bucks when to show footage from All In, I immediately thought, ‘Okay, well, you know, the Young Bucks are heel characters, it’s going to be some goofy thing or whatever.’ But then I asked and I’m not talking like one person. Multiple people.”
Meltzer: “Well, I definitely can say that I definitely got it 100% confirmed.”
Alvarez: “It is 100%, they’re airing the footage. Tony was very upset about CM Punk’s interview. And apparently, I was told that he wanted to air this footage a long time ago. And for whatever reason, he did not. And now, I guess because of the timing and the interview and what CM Punk said, he is going to air it. And we’ve heard many sides of the story about what happened. We’re going to see Wednesday, but I think it’s safe to say that if it were the story that CM Punk told, I don’t know why Tony would air the footage.”
AEW will be airing the Punk-Perry footage on Wednesday. We'll discuss that on tonight's show
