WWE experiments with a new concept at the Smackdown television tapings on 12/15/23
Prior to the December 15th 2023 edition of WWE Smackdown going live in Green Bay, Wisconsin, WWE experimented with a new concept called WWE Speed. The idea is that WWE stars compete against each other in a five minute time limit match with a clock counting down on the screen. A point is awarded for winning and a point is deducted for losing while no points are awarded in the event of a draw.
NXT’s Axiom vs. Cedric Alexander and RAW’s Bronson Reed vs. NXT’s Nathan Frazer were the first matches to try out the new WWE Speed concept. Corey Graves and Kevin Patrick were at ringside doing commentary for the bouts.
Prior to Friday's #SmackDown tapings, WWE tested a new concept called “WWE Speed” with matches featuring a 5-Minute countdown clock.
Below is a look at the look of the potential new show.
