What happened with Edge following his match against Sheamus on Smackdown in Toronto

As seen during the August 18th 2023 edition of WWE Smackdown, Edge defeated Sheamus in a competitive match. After the show ended, Edge got on the mic and cut a promo for the fans in Toronto, Canada…

“What I can say is this is my last time in front of y’all. I don’t think I can make it another full on to get here again for a match. I’m just being honest with you. But don’t let that be a downer. Because, man, what an experience you all gave me. I will never forget it. And when I’m 84 years old and don’t remember much today, I’m sure I’m going to remember this. Thank you.”

Edge previously stated that the Sheamus match was going to be the last one of his WWE contract.
