Degeneration Dex: Tag Team Title Turmoil

Welcome to Degeneration Dex!!! It’s Wrestlemania season, the nightS of all nightS, the showcase of the immortals *Michael Cole voice* and the biggest WWE event of the year! Today, let’s talk about those WWE Women’s tag team titles currently held by Carmella and Queen Zelina.

I want to very quickly point out the fact that I absolutely hate Liv Morgan’s new theme and I want the old one back. Ok back to the Women’s Tag Team titles. In November of 2022, Carmella and Queen Zelina dethroned Rhea Ripley and Nikki A.S.H to win the tag team titles and we haven’t seen them in a tag team feud since.

On Smackdown, Naomi and Sasha announced that they wanted a title match and it was granted. I think I can speak for everyone when I say the tag titles have been treated as an afterthought, but there was some excitement injected into the division with the Naomi/Sasha team forming.

Now, they’ve added Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley to the match and I honestly feel like this move had made a once exciting match turn into a free for all. I predict that by the end we get a random tag team turmoil type of match where the only build-up is a losing streak between Queen Zelena and Carmella.

Overall, I’m glad we’re getting so many superstars on the Wrestlemania card, but I would much rather have a well-planned battle royal over a bunch of randomly created teams that will split immediately after mania.
