William Regal addresses what is being reported about his health
As previously noted, William Regal issued an apology due to “time issues” with his AEW Dynamite promo from the March 9th 2022 edition. People in attendance noted that the floor director tried to get Regal to wrap up the promo but he kept going.
While recapping Regal’s promo from Dynamite, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com wrote the following…
“Apparently Regal’s health issues at this stage are far more serious than have ever come out and there is an interview that will be released next week that he did for Talk is Jericho that will detail them.”
Regal addressed his health via Twitter…
“Already…. That’s why I stay out the runour mill and gossip!!! I’ve just found out that there’s things being printed about my health. I am healthier than I’ve been in many years. I talked this week to someone about things that had happened to me in 2018.”

Regal, who is 53, said the following during his promo on Dynamite…
“It won’t be that long, let’s face facts. Probably in the next, I don’t know, till I’m 65. 12 years till the wife’s pushing me to the sunny window so I can look out while a bit of toast is dripping out of my mouth because I know that I’m not long for this world.”
In other Regal news, the name “William Regal” was first applied as a trademark by WWE in 2007. Regal (real name Darren Matthews) applied for the trademark on February 9th 2022 and AEW felt comfortable enough to use the name on television.
