Wrestle Review: Embarrassed/Indifferent Submitted by Andy Sullivan on 12/06/2019 at 11:12 PM
I used to look forward to Monday Night Raw. I used to look forward to Smackdown. Okay, I suppose I still do. The only difference now is that I don't look forward to the entire show, as I used to. These days, when I watch, it's more or less looking forward to seeing your favorites. I love Lexi, Alexa Bliss, I mean. I popped last week when she returned. I missed seeing her. I popped this week when she had her first match back. I look forward to the Miz and segments he's in.
What I didn't look forward to was that dumpster fire that is Roman Reigns and Baron Corbin's feud. As soon as I got word Thursday that the match would happen at TLC I said "Oh no"! Full disclosure, the wording might've been a little more colorful. You get the gist. Then we got to Friday. I'd been catching up on NXT and AEW since 4 so I was a little behind. Thank God for DVR so I can speed through things. Unfortunately, I caught up around the end of the main event when said garbage spot between Reigns and Corbin occurred. Dog food? Who writes this garbage?
I didn't even bother watching Raw. I watched AEW Dynamite while I ate supper tonight. One thing I noticed, shouldn't AEW stop taking pot-shots at WWE at some point? You'd think they would. Of course, WWE and their garbage television and booking doesn't make it easy to stop. Case in point: Fans chanting about the list of Jericho when Jericho mentioned the AEW version of "The List of Jericho" called the Lexicon". Jericho's response to the fan chant? "That's so 2016". Yet, you're rehashing the idea and calling it something else....
At least they didn't do that "unlike that other company" bull____ that Cody did for the first few months of the company. Lest we forget the speech he made at Fyter Fest. Other than the Jericho shot(his second, as far as I can recall), I enjoyed Dynamite. I'm looking forward to the eventual Jericho vs Moxley championship match. Will Jon be the second AEW champion? Time will tell.
Vince McMahon's only saving grace is NXT and Triple H is behind that. I can't wait for that Tommasso Ciampa v Keith Lee v Fin Balor #1 contender match. That's going to be unbelievable! I've always found it amazing how NXT can be so good but Monday and Friday can be so bad. I'll just keep enjoying AEW and NXT and roll my eyes at Raw and Smackdown, I suppose.
